Bolin Liao receives third early-career award this year

In the last six months, Professor Bolin Liao has received early career awards from the U.S. Army Research Office, U. S. Department of Energy and now the National Science Foundation.  The project periods of these three awards span a total of five years with combined research funding of $1,610,000.

UCSB researchers receive U.S. DOE grant to build atom-defect hybrid quantum sensor

UCSB physicists Ania Jayich and David Weld, and materials scientist Kunal Mukherjee, have received a research grant to develop atom-defect hybrid quantum systems.  This research has been funded with a three-year, $1.5 million grant from the Department of Energy’s Office of Basic Sciences.

New, Faster and More Powerful - the new 'Pod' shared computing cluster at the Center for Scientific Computing

Researchers at UC Santa Barbara now have 300 teraFLOPs of computing power at their fingertips, thanks to the recent installation of the campus’s new computing cluster. Named Pod, the $1.1 million high-performance computing (HPC) cluster is hosted by the campus’s Center for Scientific Computing (CSC) at the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) and Materials Research Laboratory (MRL), and is available for scientific and engineering research to any UCSB researcher who needs it.

CNSI Adds 4 Energy Frontier Research Center (EFRC) Projects to Its Research Portfolio
