Parking at UCSB

The University of California, Santa Barbara requires visitors to observe parking regulations and have a valid parking permit while visiting the UCSB campus.
A parking permit must be visible on the dashboard of your car to avoid receiving a parking citation.

UC Faculty or Staff Permit Holders

There is a reciprocal parking agreement between all UC campuses. Applications for UCSB parking reciprocity are accepted exclusively at the Parking Services office. Upon applying, you will be asked to present an ID and evidence of your current UC parking status.

For additional details regarding UC Parking Reciprocity, please visit the Transportation and Parking Services Website:

Visitor parking is limited to "C" (Commuter) parking lots between the hours of 7:30AM and 5:00PM. Pay stations accept payment via Visa and Mastercard in addition to $1 and $5 bills (Note: the pay stations do not give change.)

Parking Areas

Staff permits are valid in "Staff" areas in addition to commuter "C" areas. Faculty permits are valid in "Faculty", "Staff" and "C" parking areas.  Please watch for spaces or areas within these lots that may have additional restrictions.

Please note: Faculty and staff permits are not valid in restricted areas, restricted spaces, reserved spaces, metered spaces, coastal access spaces or lots/spaces marked for vendors.
