Starting a company involves many individuals, including founders, advisors, board members, executives, employees, consultants, interns, and more. Navigating the recruitment and deployment of talent while assuring the company's intellectual property position and freedom to operate remains strong is critical. As a follow-up to questions that arose during our Fall session on Strategic Alliances and IP, Kevin DeBré, who leads the Intellectual Property and Technology Transactions Practice at Stubbs Alderton and Markiles, LLP, a law firm with deep experience in representing entrepreneurs and startups, will be presenting on best practices for protecting and strengthening your company’s intellectual property as talent and expertise is added to, and subtracted from your startup. Whether protecting trade secrets or navigating IP ownership issues, proper treatment of IP during talent acquisition is critical to future success (and attracting investment).
