The Center for Science and Engineering Partnerships (CSEP) is collaborating with the laboratory of Alyson Santoro on a newly awarded NSF Convergence Accelerator that will include workforce training for undergraduates interested in novel bioplastics for marine environments.

The CSEP will lead the workforce training component of the project. UCSB undergraduates will participate in a hybrid academic year research and summer industry training component at Mango Materials, learning about both the development of biodegradable plastics and using these new materials for oceanographic sensors.
