Angela Pitenis receives NSF Early CAREER Award

Investigating friction in soft material interfaces.
January 12, 2022
Angela Pitenis, Assistant Professor in the Materials Department and CNSI researcher was recently awarded an NSF Early CAREER award to support her work on “Dynamics of Fragile Interactions”. This prestigious award from the National Science Foundation supports the educational and research activities of early career faculty. Through this work Pitenis and her team will investigate how fracturing and rapidly rehealing crosslinks between macromolecules in aqueous solutions could reduce friction in natural and manmade materials.
