Sherylle Mills Englander

Biography

Prior to joining CNSI, Ms. Englander was the founding director of UCSB' Office of Technology & Industry Alliances ("TIA"), which manages UCSB's intellectual property portfolio, including out-licensing, assists in developing industry affiliate programs for strategic campus research centers, and negotiates agreements with the industry sector for UCSB research collaborations. In her capacity as director of TIA, she worked closely with UCSB's industry partners, as well as its startup companies and the local startup ecosystem. She holds a JD from UC Berkeley's School of Law, and a Bachelors from the University of Rochester.

As the Executive Director for Strategic Initiatives and Operations, Ms. Englander is responsible for the ideation, management, and execution of CNSI’s strategic initiatives and center level projects, with an emphasis on the development and implementation of a comprehensive array of programs that focus on innovation and entrepreneurship (with a focus on supporting UCSB’s tech-based startup companies) and bridging the gap between academia and industry, as well as increasing engagement with industry and funding partners through workforce development and innovation support/training programs.
